In his opinion, the actor Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”) is at a crossroads in his life. “Now I’m 53 and I’m wondering if I want to continue working as an actor for 30 years. It’s kind of a fork in the road I’m at,” he told journalists in Berlin on Thursday.

“When you’re 50, it’s probably like this more often: you either wait for inspiration or you look for it.” He intends to seek inspiration.

In the Berlinale opening film “She Came to Me” by director Rebecca Miller, Dinklage plays an opera composer in crisis. He doesn’t know if he could have played this role 20 years ago – or if he could play it in 20 years. It’s like this in his job: “Actors sit around and wait for role offers, for jobs,” he said. The offer for the role came at the right time in his life, the script inspired him.

The comedy “She came to me” starring Marisa Tomei and Anne Hathaway is scheduled to be shown at the opening ceremony of the film festival on Thursday evening.
