Hollywood star Hugh Jackman has described casting alongside fellow actress Sandra Bullock as shameful. At the time, he auditioned for the male role alongside Bullock in “Miss Undercover,” the 54-year-old told US magazine “Variety.” And he thought: “Damn crap! She’s great! And so quick and fast. I can’t even begin to keep up with this.” The Australian recalls that he gave his all during the joint audition. “I kicked as hard as I could, but I couldn’t do the script well enough.”

He actually didn’t want the role in the romantic comedy at all, but wanted to improve his chances of another role by getting a job offer, Jackman explained. At the time he was still “a nobody”. “It’s humiliating. When your agent says, ‘I don’t want you to get this job, but just go and get it.’ – And then you don’t get it.”

The male part in “Miss Undercover” alongside Bullock eventually went to Benjamin Bratt. Jackman’s breakthrough came shortly after, however, when the first X-Men movie starring him as Wolverine hit theaters. A month ago, it was revealed to the delight of Wolverine fans that the Australian was once again donning his metal claws for an appearance opposite Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3.
