US actor Dave Bautista says he is “relieved” at his departure from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” series. “It wasn’t just pleasant,” the 53-year-old, who played the vengeful Drax in the Marvel films, told GQ magazine. “It was difficult to play this role. The make-up process was depressing for me.”
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is scheduled to hit US cinemas in May. After that, Bautista says he has no plans to return to the role of Drax the Destroyer. “I’m so thankful for Drax. I love him,” the actor said. However, he is also looking forward to other roles: “I just don’t know if I want Drax to be my legacy – it’s a silly performance and I want to do more dramatic things.”
Crime fans could most recently see Bautista in the Netflix hit “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”. The ex-wrestler also plays in the thriller “Knock at the Cabin”, which will be released in February.
