French actor Alain Delon (87) parted with part of his art collection for over eight million euros. “He doesn’t like auctions after death,” his daughter Anouchka Delon told the weekly Le Journal du Dimanche. Her father always told her that the deceased were the only ones who would no longer notice what was happening to them, the actress also told the magazine “Public”.
More than 80 works from his art collection went under the hammer at an auction on Thursday, including Raoul Dufy’s La baie de Sainte-adresse, which fetched over a million euros at auction. It is said to have been the sixth auction of the actor’s belongings, who had previously parted with watches and bronze sculptures, among other things.
