As soon as this year’s Academy Awards are over, the date for next year’s Oscars has already been set. “Save the date. The 96th Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024,” writes the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on its official Instagram account. The award ceremony will take place again on the second Sunday in March.
Other important dates related to the upcoming award ceremony have also been announced. The Oscar shortlist will be announced on Thursday, December 21, 2023. 15 works make it to this every year, from which the five nominated films are then chosen. Voting for the shortlist runs from December 14-18, 2023.
The Oscar nominations are scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Voting is scheduled for the period January 11-16, 2024. The annual Oscar lunch with the nominees follows on February 12, before the 96th Golden Boys are presented in Los Angeles on March 10.
