“Little Miss Sunshine” has definitely grown up. Abigail Breslin (26), who celebrated her breakthrough as a child star with the cult comedy in 2006, got married. The actress announced the good news on Monday (January 30) on her Instagram account.
“I married my best friend,” wrote Abigail Breslin. In the photo, she dances in a classic white wedding dress with her new husband, Ira Kunyansky. The wedding ceremony took place on Saturday, and Breslin posted the date alongside emojis of little hearts and a ring.
The actress showed the actual ring in another Instagram post in a close-up. “Your girl got married,” she wrote. Actresses like Elle Fanning (24) and Rosario Dawson (43) congratulated her in the comments on the posts.
Her newlywed husband also published a picture of the wedding on Instagram. “I love my better half,” reads the caption. Abigail Breslin and Ira Kunyansky have been a couple since 2017. They made their engagement public last year, also via social media.
In 2006, Abigail Breslin became famous almost overnight with the surprise hit “Little Miss Sunshine”. At the age of ten, she played a slightly chubby girl who desperately wants to enter a children’s beauty pageant. The young actress, who made her debut in 2002’s ‘Sings,’ earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for ‘Little Miss Sunshine.’ This makes her one of the youngest nominees ever.
Unlike many other young stars, Breslin continued to work as an actress – and without scandal. The New Yorker, who is also a singer, played in the horror comedy “Zombieland” (2009) and in the sequel ten years later.
