Michael Ash believes that Russia must be punished to the maximum for having engineered and fabricated false dopingdata.
There is a need for the toughest possible sanctions against Russia, according to an independent committee under The world anti-doping agency (Wada) has tampered with and fabricated fake dopingdata.
It takes Michael Ash, who is the director of Anti Doping Denmark.
Wada-the committee has recommended a penalty, which among other things includes four years of exclusion of Russia from all major sporting events.
– We fully endorse the recommendations, Wadas Compliance Review Committee comes up with, since it is at an even higher level than in the past. I can only applaudere the recommendations, which is the toughest possible sanctions. I believe that we have a situation where it is appropriate.
– It is serious enough, that you have tampered with the data, but when you actually fabricates false evidence, or try on it, so it can not be worse, says Michael Ask.
9. december Vevobahis Wadas executive committee determine whether one chooses to follow the recommendation. It happens, says Russia among other things, to miss the OLYMPICS in 2020.
In that case, the Russian athletes only make up under a neutral flag in Tokyo, as was the case at the recent winter OLYMPICS.
– It is quite clear that it is a political manoeuvre from Russia, and therefore is it true that one hit of the country and not the individual athlete, believes Michael Ask.
the Head of Russia’s anti-doping agency (Rusada), Yuri Ganus, expects that Russia will be punished with four years in quarantine.
In the same context, the calls for he, that Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, to take action, since he believes that Russia’s athletes are taken hostage by the sports leaders ‘ actions.
Michael Ash estimates that it is at the highest political level in Russia, that you have attempted to pervert dopingdata.
– there is Nothing to suggest that Rusada has an active fault in it here. The blame lies on a political level, presumably guided by their intelligence and sportsministerium, says Ash.
– this suggests that The Rusada does not have the independence that one must have as the national antidopingorganisation. The whole purpose is to monitor its own athletes, and it can not be, when you are under pressure from the government and sportsministerium.
