an hour and a half, Pamela Palenciano takes the stage, in institutes and theatres, and represents 10 characters. She herself is but a teenager. Is also Antonio, her then boyfriend, when it gets warm and when you lose the nerves. Is your best friend, Maite, the only one that has changed the name, and the rest of colleagues who were witnesses in a case of domestic violence that were not able to see almost to the end, when Antonio tried to kill her. And that began to understand years later, when his psychologist Maria Carmen said: “Not only hurt the tempest”. That is just the title of his performance, in which he began to work 16 years ago and with which it carries more than 7,000 representations, especially in front of high school students, some of them in Murcia before the controversy of the veto parental. It is always a text awkward, but now, in addition, is subject to attacks by pupils —”creatures of Vox”, he calls it— and the target of critics angry over the social networks. Official accounts of Vox up extracts cut from the monologue, the party of ultra right wing defines it as “crap”. The have become an example of what can be censor with the veto applied by the Region of Murcia: “Never again will the progres when driving up to their hearts content for the classroom. Never more be able to indoctrinate our children in crap like this”. Palenciano ensures that the reported two times for “child abuse”, both filed, and that there is no day that does not have a message “threatening” Vox or “his supporters”. He has hired a lawyer.

Response. The monologue Not only hurt the shock part of the need to tell my story with male violence, a pretext to analyse the system of inequality not only between men and women, but in the world, focused to prevent violence in general and especially among young people. I’ve been 16 years with the project. Started as a photo exhibition, a workshop and now representation. Tale, the relationship with Antonio, that I started at the age of 12.
Q. Since when does the quote Vox in the networks?
A. Took a whole year in which every day I receive networking messages from supporters of Vox in the form of threats and profanity. I’m on all your networks. In the classroom I meet every day with creatures of Vox who see the monologue and the challenge. The boys stirred more than the girls. Are made to move, to speak among them, to put faces rare. Call Me feminazi, podemita, adoctrinadora. I say things like: “My uncle has told me that he would come a aunt to adoctrinarnos”. When I ask questions, reply that the monologue is full of ideology, which is more neutral. Everything has an ideology. I am a feminist and I focus on human rights. In Teruel, a young lad told me that my acting was an ideology of what is going on in Venezuela.

Q. do These reactions in the institutes are new?
A. Is supernuevo. There is always the guy who is uncomfortable with the machismo, that you feel that I’m talking about what that is. Now that you have speech. Started strong for about a year and a half, from that Vox came in the Parliament of Andalusia. What I noticed from one day to another when they came to the institutions. Before it was more content, now more normalized. Some teach me bracelets of Vox and Spain and they take me out of the finger [make comb].
Q. How are you welcoming the rest of the student body his monologue?
A. Is a wonder. To the girls they drop the sell. Some react in the plan: “What you are telling me is happening to me, what I’ve spent and now I can put a name.” The guys will feel uncomfortable at first, but then they see that the criticism is hegemonic masculinity, not men. And will loosening. Their overwhelming response is: “I don’t want to be the monologue”. But even if you have 5 or 10 of Vox, even if they are few, they burst the space. Make so much noise that I have to stop work to tell you to shut up. From these last few episodes, I will tell you that if you do not want to be coming out. I don’t want to attend required if you do not want to. Mine is not a doctrine. Also I suffer a boycott of some of the teachers who are going to complain to the director after the monologue. Some sit with the malotes and don’t scold, don’t say anything if you let go of bad words. There are also teachers of Vox giving classes.
Q. what Influence the comments I make from this game in the nets on you in your work?
A. Influence throughout the day. I have peaks of anxiety by having to go to work with fear to see what can happen, if there will be a public protest, if I’m not going to be able to act because they complain about the parents. In Rivas-Vaciamadrid there was a complaint to the address and came the inspector of education to review who I was. In the end I did the monologue, but the inspector was there because he had a complaint of fathers and mothers. When he saw that it was an educational activity and art to prevent violence, he said that he could not cancel the activity.

Q. what he Says he’s going to the institutes with fear?
A. Yes, and it is not just to educate with fear. My history is already pretty scary, to remember again and again. What I’m doing because I’ve taken it as a mission of life. But I don’t want to do it with fear. I’m not doing anything wrong, I speak of what happened to me and I do an analysis of inequality. What occurred to me is not isolated. We live in a free country and with democracy. I came from El Salvador fleeing from situations of risk of violence, seeking freedom, and look how I am now. A friend of mine said these days in networking: “If Pamela Palenciano something happens to him are not liable to Vox”. My lawyer reassures me.
Q. do you Have a lawyer for this matter?
A. We met last year. It’s called Laia Serra, and is an expert in harassment and violence against feminist activists. Was looking for someone to support me for being a human rights activist and feminist. I feel very safe with her. I have other advisors that help me. And I’m going to find an attorney in the actors, to see how to defend myself against a political party that I censure for acting as an actress, to have a strategy and that I do not get caught off guard.
Q. have You ever thought to stop doing the monologue?
A. Any time I’ve raised, yes. I see that it is necessary for the young people who write to me every day to follow, and for people around you who supports me a lot. I have drops by the fatigue of having to face these things. The monologue is already hard because it is autobiographical. I would like to not have to deal with all this, I’m overcome. I want to go to work without fear and to do my best job possible, as all over the world. I will continue to work for me and the rest of companions who are also in the point of view of the pin parental.
