Star Wars Celebration featured the premiere trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Respawn’s Star Wars sequel is due to be released in 2023.
A short, cinematic trailer shows Cal Kestis following the events in Jedi: Fallen Order. He is still running from the Empire. Although the trailer lacks plot, it has plenty of Star Wars footage with new inquisitors as well as new mysteries.
Curiously, Cal, who spent the previous game building a family and allies, is now all alone. The Empire appears to have taken his lightsaber, which he had spent so much time building, and it seems that it has fallen into their hands. Cal is clearly in a difficult place at Jedi: Survivor.
Respawn’s Star Wars action RPG, Star Wars: The Next Generation, will be available on next-gen platforms PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. EA does not mention past-gen consoles. However, developers are moving to new-gen systems so Star Wars Jedi: Survivor may be.
The trailer was shown during Star Wars Celebration amid buzz about new trailers for Star Wars shows like Andor and Mandalorian.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a highly-reviewed game when it was first released. This was a major coup for Respawn, who are best known for their online multiplayer games such as Titanfall and Apex Legends. Respawn made Star Wars modern by combining Star Wars with deep single-player story campaigns and Souls-like action RPG mechanisms. IGN has reviewed Jedi: Fallen Order.
