A 33-year-old man from west Jutland is charged with sexual abuse committed against several boys under 15 years of age.

Several hundred children and young people is feared to have been exposed to sexual abuse and so-called grooming committed by a 33-year-old man from the Esbjerg area.

It informs to the South – Jutland Police, to DR.

The alleged victims come from all over the country, and the case is so extensive, that a large number of the country’s police districts have been involved in the investigation.

Specifically, is the man charged to have blufærdighedskrænket and exposed boys under 15 years for other sexual practices than intercourse.

It tells vicepolitiinspektør for personfarlig crime at the South Jutland Police Jacob Ulvedahl Andersen to DR.

– Since april, 2018, we have investigated an extensive case of, among other things grooming. The accused is in custody and expected to be indictment within a few months, he says.

the Concept of “grooming” covers situations in which an adult builds a relationship of trust with a child with the purpose of later committing atrocities.

It is typically done via the internet or over the phone.

According to the DR the case is referred to as Operation Tahcpans of the police and the crown prosecution service. It is the “Snapchat” spelled backwards.

However, police have not confirmed that contact between the accused and the boys are made via Snapchat, a social medium, where you can chat and send pictures and video clips.

DR writes that several hundred children and young people has been videoafhørt in the case. Most live according to the police in north Zealand.

In a press release, informs the South Jutland Police, that is expected to be indictment in the case during the first quarter of 2020.

The 33-year-old man was arrested the 9. January of this year, and he has since been remanded in custody.
