Jennifer Lopez will receive the MTV Movie & TV Awards for her television and film achievements.
On Friday, the network announced that Lopez would receive the Generation Award in Santa Monica, California. This award honors actors whose contributions to television and film have made them household names.
Scarlett Johansson and Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) Johnson were previous recipients. Sandra Bullock, Robert Downey Jr. Chris Pratt, Will Smith, and Reese Witherspoon were also among them.
Wendy WhiteWolf and Vanessa Plaut, executive producers of the Generation Award, stated that Jennifer Lopez “embodies everything about it.” Jennifer Lopez, a woman who can do it all — acting, singing and dancing, producing fashion and beauty — is a timeless icon that has made an impact on film and TV, music, and culture.
Lopez made her first break as a dancer in the 1990s sketch comedy “In Living Color.” In 1997, Lopez was cast in the leading role in “Selena.” She would appear in films such as “Anaconda”, “Out of Sight,” and “The Wedding Planner,” as well “Marry Me.”
On June 14, 52-year-old actor Will Smith will release “Halftime,” a Netflix documentary about her career. This project will focus on her second half of her career, and she will reflect on her achievements and her evolution as an artist.
Lopez is a popular singer who has many hits and albums. Her multi-hit album “On the 6” was released in 1999. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts with songs such as “If You Had My Love,” and “All I Have.”
In 2020, Lopez performed alongside Shakira during the Super Bowl halftime.
With seven nominations, “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, is the top nominee. HBO’s “Euphoria”, which received six nominations, was followed by “The Batman”, which earned four nominations. The awards will be hosted by Vanessa Hudgens and aired live from the Barker Hangar. There are 26 categories that are gender neutral.
Jack Black will be awarded the Comedic Genius Award.
