Christiane Benner is the second chairwoman of IG Metall, the largest single trade union in the democratic world. In a few weeks she will most likely be elected first chairwoman – and will then negotiate the salaries of more than two million people, advise politicians and argue with company bosses. She will be one of the most powerful women in Germany.
