A singer who performed at the Voûtes de Napoléon in Quebec City had an unforgettable moment on Saturday evening when Patrick Bruel joined him on stage to sing his greatest hits with him.
“We were already having a great evening, with Patrick, it became perfect,” says Dave Roussy, an artist from Gaspésie whom Quebecers knew when he participated in Star Académie in 2004.
The star also seems to have appreciated his unexpected meeting with the Quebec songwriter since he published a video extract of their performance on his social media accounts on Tuesday.
“Meeting in a bar, Voûtes de Napoléon, in Quebec City after the concert for a little improv after show. Thank you for the welcome, ”wrote Bruel on his publication which caused a stir on the web.
“Come on, Patrick Bruel”
In town for five concerts at the Capitole last week, Patrick Bruel had gone with friends to the Voûtes de Napoléon to relax after his last performance in the capital on Saturday.
His presence in the bar did not escape the attention— of the customers or that of Dave Roussy, who was on the schedule and describes himself as a big fan of the French artist. “I accosted him as he came out of the toilet. I said: come on, Patrick Bruel is here. I asked him to come and sing with me if he wanted to,” says Dave Roussy.
It takes at least one song
Initially, Patrick Bruel did not seem too keen on the idea of taking the microphone for a second time in the same evening, especially since he had to go back on stage the next day. “I didn’t force him, but I told him he couldn’t come to the Vaults without singing a song. »
As a matter of fact, as soon as Dave Roussy played the first notes of Casser la voix, Patrick Bruel headed for the stage and to the delight of the songwriter and the customers, he lent himself to the game with undisguised pleasure.
“It was really trippy”, ignites Dave Roussy, who was able to interpret Place des grands hommes, Who has the right and Then look with his idol. Then, when his special guest returned to sit down, Dave Roussy continued with And then I know, a title by Johnny Hallyday written by Bruel. This wink did not escape him, according to witnesses of the scene, and perfectly concluded this impromptu meeting.
Patrick Bruel will present his show from Thursday to Sunday at the Théâtre Saint-Denis in Montreal and on May 19, 20 and 21 at the Théâtre du Casino du Lac Leamy in Gatineau.
