During a check on Autobahn 44 near Werl (Soest district), customs officers came across a van with stolen goods from a Hessian company worth around 350,000 euros. On the loading area, the officers found around 200 boxes with technology for photovoltaic systems, as a spokesman for the Bielefeld main customs office announced on Thursday. After the discovery on Sunday, it turned out that the equipment had been stolen during a company break-in in Baunatal (Kassel district).

According to a spokesman for the Kassel police headquarters, it is still being investigated to what extent the 43-year-old driver had anything to do with the break-in on Sunday night. He was therefore not taken into custody. The stolen goods – inverters for photovoltaic systems and wall charging stations for electric vehicles – were seized.
