The streaming service Paramount has announced that Oscar winner Nicole Kidman (55, “The Northman”) will play a leading role in the new agent series “Lioness”. She is said to embody this alongside Zoe Saldana (44, “Avatar: The Way of Water”) and Laysla De Oliveira (30, “Locke and Key”), Paramount said. All that was known so far was that Kidman would be involved in the series as an executive producer with her production company, Blossom Films.

In the director’s chair is Taylor Sheridan (52, Oscar nomination for “Hell or High Water”), an experienced Hollywood great. The 52-year-old has already directed “1883” and “Mayor of Kingstown” for Paramount.

“Lioness” is based on an actual CIA program. Cruz Manuelos (De Oliveira) is a young Marine soldier. She is recruited into the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team to take down a terrorist organization. Joe (Saldana) is the director of the Lioness program. She is responsible for training, managing and directing the undercover agents. Kaitlyn Meade (Kidman) is a senior executive at the CIA. She has had a long career in politics. In addition to being a woman in a high-ranking secret service, she is also a wife who craves attention.

Other cast members include Jill Wagner (43), Dave Annable (43), LaMonica Garrett (47), James Jordan (43), Austin Hébert, Hannah Love Lanier, Stephanie Nur (35) and Jonah Wharton. When the new series is planned for was not mentioned. The Paramount streaming service has only been available in Germany since December 8th.
