US actress Alison Brie (40) and her husband Dave Franco (37) are absolute professionals on the film set. Sex scenes directed by Franco, like in her latest film Somebody I Used to Know, aren’t a problem either, Brie told Jezebel magazine. “We’ve worked together enough now,” said the 40-year-old. The second film they did together as actors “tore down the pavement,” Brie said.
Finally, in Jeff Baena’s (45) “The Little Hours” (2017), her husband Dave “had kissing or sex scenes with three other actors and me,” she explained. The couple has also starred in The Disaster Artist (2017), Death at the Beach House (2020) and Horse Girl (2020).
“I know it sounds crazy, but we’re actors, that’s our job. It’s actually not that strange,” said the “Community” actress. “And with something like that, because it’s our baby that we made together, I think our first priority is always just the movie,” she said. The romantic scenes with co-star Jay Ellis (41) should feel “right and good”. They shouldn’t appear “awkward or weird in any way,” the actress added.
In “Somebody I Used to Know,” Brie plays reality TV showrunner Ally, who reunites with her ex-boyfriend Sean (Ellis) in her hometown. The problem: at the weekend he actually married his fiancee Cassidy (Kiersey Clemons, 29).
She and Franco would “usually have some sort of conversation” before accepting a job with a sex scene, “just to warn the other person,” Brie told People magazine in August. After all, you don’t want to “surprise” anyone with this information. But it’s part of her job, albeit “a strange one,” said the 40-year-old. At least she can imagine “that it could look like that for outsiders”. But they are “all professionals”. Her job sometimes requires “just ultimate vulnerability”. But that’s “exactly what we signed for,” Brie added.
Brie and Franco have been married to Franco since March 2017. Her film “Somebody I Used to Know” can be seen on Amazon Prime Video.
