On January 1, 2023, Renner tried to use his own snow groomer to free his nephew’s truck after a snowstorm in front of his home in Reno, Nevada. At that time he tried to get into the tracked vehicle when it suddenly rolled towards his nephew. Renner fell under the chains and was seriously injured. According to his own statements, he broke more than 30 bones and was “completely crushed,” as a police report said at the time, according to media reports.
