US drummer Travis Barker (47) from the punk rock band Blink-182 thanked his fans for their recovery wishes after finger surgery.

The drummer posted a photo from his hospital bed on Friday with his left hand in a cast. It was a difficult decision, but without the intervention he would not have been able to continue playing the drums. The torn ligament operation was successful, he said. Now he can continue to do what he loves and soon go on tour again.

In early February, Barker tweeted that he had severely injured his finger while playing the drums. Almost two weeks later, he reported another injury.

The punk rockers have since canceled the start of their world tour, which was planned for March 11 in Mexico. They would have to postpone their planned concerts in Latin America, said singer Tom DeLonge (47) on Wednesday.

The trio announced the tour in October. It should run through Mexico, South America, North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand by February 2024. There are also three performances planned for September 2023 in Germany (9 September Cologne, 16 September Berlin, 17 September Hamburg). According to the website, the first concert in the USA is scheduled for the beginning of May.

The trio with Barker, DeLonge and Mark Hoppus (50) is known for songs like “All the Small Things” and “What’s My Age Again”. Barker made headlines last spring for his marriage to reality star Kourtney Kardashian.
