Backstreet Boy Nick Carter (43) has spoken out for the first time about the death of his sister Bobbie Jean Carter, who died on December 23rd at the age of 41. In a touching Instagram post, he appeared heartbroken.
The singer posted a childhood snapshot on his Instagram page that shows him holding hands with his little sister. He wrote on Thursday: “It can take a lifetime to fully process the loss my family has suffered over the years – most recently with the sudden death of our sister Bobbie Jean. My heart is broken.” He then thanked his fans for their “love and kind words” and emphasized: “We are reminded again that life is precious, fleeting and to appreciate the time we have with those we love.” Finally he added: “I know she is finally at peace with God. I love you.”
Nick Carter has already lost three of his four siblings. In November 2022, his brother Aaron was found lifeless in the bathtub at the age of 34, and his sister Leslie Carter died of an overdose in January 2012 at the age of 25. In November, the singer spoke about how much the loss of Aaron was bothering him: “It’s still unbelievable for me. I’m still processing the whole situation and trying to understand it – because that’s not the case. But I hope that one day I can understand everything.”
