Every year on March 8th, International Women’s Day, the focus is on women’s rights and equality. In line with this, the second season of the documentary series “Her Story” starts on Sky and its streaming service Wow, in which prominent women from different walks of life are portrayed. Season two is dedicated to the Green politician Katrin Göring-Eckardt (56), Vice President of the German Bundestag, tennis professional Angelique Kerber (35), the entrepreneur Judith Williams (51) known from the VOX program “Die Höhle der Löwen” and Dancer and “Let’s Dance” juror Motsi Mabuse (41). They all provide information in front of the camera about work and their private lives.

In four new, approximately one-hour episodes, viewers get intimate insights into the everyday life of the portrayed personalities. A camera team accompanies Green Party politician Göring-Eckardt to the city of Odessa during the Ukraine war, where she campaigns for a free Europe as a representative of the federal government. In front of the camera, the 56-year-old, together with her son, also gives information about her “something different” family life and what is probably the most difficult stroke of fate in her life, according to the Sky press release.

The three-time Grand Slam winner Kerber is accompanied at a Wimbledon preparation tournament in Bad Homburg and on a trip to Puszczykowo in Poland. Kerber’s grandparents live there; the Olympic silver medalist promotes talented young tennis players in the city on the Warthe in her “Angie Kerber Tennis Academy”.

Entrepreneur Williams describes her professional career in front of the camera and also reveals what makes her so successful. In addition, the TV personality takes viewers behind the scenes of teleshopping and shows insights into her family life.

In “Her Story”, the former professional dancer Mabuse reports on the beginnings of her dance career in her country of origin, South Africa. The film shows the 41-year-old as a self-confident sports dancer, mother, daughter and strong woman who first had to give up her dream in order to find happiness.

The first episode of the second season of “Her Story” will be released on Sky Documentaries on March 8th at 8:15 p.m. At the same time, the show is available for viewing on Wow and Sky Q. The remaining three episodes from season two appear at weekly intervals on Wednesdays.
