Cara Delevingne (30) is dry. The model announced this in a candid interview with “Vogue”. “I’ve had my first sober Christmas, my first sober New Year’s Eve. It was honestly the best time I’ve ever had,” she explains in a video clip published by the fashion magazine. Delevingne is now “happy and grateful” but sobriety is still “scary”.

Paparazzi photos of her appeared last year, which worried many people around her. “It’s not good,” the actress said at the time, even if she wasn’t worried about herself. “That’s the way the disease is. That’s what addiction means,” she says today.

Delevingne would now “enjoy” her new life. Now she finally has “profound conversations” while partying and can communicate better with people. The road to sobriety is “uncomfortable”. “But it’s getting better and it’s worth it,” the 30-year-old is certain.

On the road to abstinence, last year she chose the 12-step program originally developed by Alcoholics Anonymous: “The community has made a huge difference in that. The opposite of addiction is connection, and I really have found in the 12-step program.”
