Hip-hop musician Wyclef Jean (53) is apparently on the mend. The Fugees singer was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital earlier this week after experiencing numbness in the right side of his face, he told TMZ.
He then went to his family doctor, who in turn sent him straight to the emergency room. In an Instagram story, Jean shared a video of himself in a wheelchair wearing a hospital gown and mask. “Okay, they’re taking me to the room now. I’ve never been in the hospital overnight,” the Haitian musician explained. He also wrote: “Sometimes we forget that our body is our temple.” In another post, he also assured his worried fans: “I’ll be back soon.”
Jean recently told TMZ that his doctors say the facial numbness may be the result of stress and exhaustion. Further tests are to follow.
Since September 2021, fans have been eagerly awaiting the comeback of the 90s jeans cult band Fugees. At that time, a reunion tour was announced, but it was canceled in January 2022 due to the corona pandemic.
Since the Fugees’ hit album “The Score”, released in 1996, Wyclef Jean has also released several albums as a solo artist, most recently the record “Wyclef Goes Back to School Volume 1” in March 2019.
