He is not only a successful Hollywood star, but also a clever businessman: actor Ryan Reynolds (46) has sold his company “Mint Mobile” to T-Mobile for $1.35 billion.
“I never dreamed of owning a cell phone company, let alone selling it to T-Mobile,” Reynolds wrote on his Twitter account. “Life is strange. And I’m incredibly proud and grateful.” He further joked, “I’m glad T-Mobile outbid a last minute bid from my mom, Tammy Reynolds.”
Mike Sievert (53), CEO of T-Mobile, assured his customers in a joint video with Reynolds that Mint Mobile’s $15-per-month cellular plan would remain after the takeover.
Reynolds bought an estimated 25 percent stake in Mint Mobile in 2019. Even after the sale to T-Mobile, he will retain his “creative role” in the company and act as spokesman, it was said. It is not known exactly how much the actor earns from the billion-dollar deal. Insiders estimate his net worth at around $350 million. This makes him one of the richest actors in the world.
