Ballermann singer Mickie Krause (52) was a guest on “Sat.1 breakfast television” on Thursday (March 23). In an interview with moderators Karen Heinrichs (48) and Benjamin Bieneck, he emphasized the importance of his family, among other things. “Today, family is clearly much more important to me than my job,” he said, adding: “If you asked me earlier what is more important, family or career? I would have said career – but I didn’t have a family yet. “
His wife, who has been married for 20 years, is “the best wife I could get for my first marriage,” enthused Krause. He was happy “that my wife can put up with me too”. But she was also “very happy when I’m always away”. And the children, too, “are happy again that I’m in the MegaPark”. They would each stand in the front row and celebrate their father.
They will soon have the opportunity to do so again: Mickie Krause’s next appearance is planned for April 3rd. 25 to 30 more are to follow. After his bladder cancer, Krause has to “go back a bit”. “I’ve done a little too much in the last year,” he admitted. Last year he was on stage 172 times in Germany alone. In 2023 he wants to limit himself to “130 to 140” shows.
But he didn’t “make a great change” to his life after the diagnosis, said Krause. Because with the disease he could “get old because we recognized it in time,” a doctor said to him. Although the tumor has now been removed, “the lightness is different than a year and a half ago”.
Mickie Krause was diagnosed with bladder cancer while filming the TV show “Showtime of My Life”, which will be broadcast in early 2022.
