Is Kim Kardashian taking new directions? The American reality icon surprises her Instagram followers with a promising trailer for the twelfth season of the cult series “American Horror Story”. In the cast? She herself and Hollywood star Emma Roberts.
The 42-year-old seems to have completely won over her pal, director and series creator Ryan Murphy, to her acting skills when she appeared as a ‘Saturday Night Live’ host in 2021. So much so that this Kardashian even gave a starring role in the form of a character created especially for her.
A Murphy and FX representative confirmed the new cast for season 12 to Variety, which says Kardashian is set to lead the cast along with Roberts. The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star isn’t completely new to acting – she’s previously been seen in small roles in series like “Two Broke Girls” or “How I Met Your Mother” – but the lead role in “American Horror Story” will be her acting breakthrough.
After all, a role in “American Horror Story” was already a great acting door opener for stars like Lady Gaga. The singer won the Golden Globe Award for her role in the fifth season “American Horror Story: Hotel”, after which she was seen in numerous blockbusters such as “A Star is Born” opposite Bradley Cooper.
As the US trade magazine “The Hollywood Reporter” writes, actress and screenwriter Halley Feiffer is to write the screenplays and serve as showrunner for the twelfth season. The story is said to be based on the thriller Delicate Condition, a modern reimagining of the 1968 Roman Polanski classic Rosmary’s Baby.
The book, written by Danielle Valentine, is due to be released in English in August and is about a woman who believes that the devil himself will ensure that she will never conceive.
