New Jersey honors one of its most famous sons. Starting this year, “Bruce Springsteen Day” will be celebrated on September 23. This was announced by Phil Murphy (65), Governor of the US state, at the weekend. The announcement of the upcoming Memorial Day took place as part of the American Music Honors, an event at Monmouth University’s Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music. September 23rd is Springsteen’s (73) birthday.
“Bruce Springsteen is one of the most famous and influential musicians – and New Jerseyers – of all time,” said Phil Murphy. “It’s important that we recognize Bruce for all that he has done and will continue to do,” the Democrat said. “From giving us his music to give us his time to do things close to his heart, including creating an archive that will inspire the songwriters and singers of tomorrow.”
