In May, Samuel Koch (35) wanted to perform in numerous German cities with his “Weightless – How Life Gets Easier” tour. It should be evenings “about the power of rethinking” and “full of fun, hope and real feelings”, as his homepage says. However, most of the previously planned dates have now been cancelled.
According to information on the website, shows in Dresden, Chemnitz, Berlin, Hamburg and Frankfurt were planned for May. According to a message from the organizer Semmel Concerts, only performances in Stuttgart (May 21) and Munich (May 22) should take place. Tickets already purchased for the canceled shows can therefore be returned to where they were purchased.
In the message, Koch openly explains in a longer statement how the cancellations could have happened. “Sometimes it’s not enough to win, even though you’ve given everything,” the actor and author is quoted as saying. “Unfortunately, that’s how it is with ‘Schwerelos’. Due to the general explosion in costs, our production has become more and more expensive, while the viewers, for understandable reasons, keep their money together and only decide at very short notice whether they buy a ticket or not.”
On the part of the organizers, however, planning security is required. So “suddenly a situation that makes me very sad” arose. “Unfortunately, advance ticket sales were not enough by the deadline in most cities.” According to Koch, it was with a heavy heart that the decision was made to cancel the tour – with the exception of the shows in Stuttgart and Munich already mentioned.
This hurts the team around Koch, who has been on “Wetten, dass ..?” since a serious accident. in a wheelchair in 2010, very much. But you don’t want to give up and work on a concept “that fits better with the general economic situation” and come back with it. “Everything will be alright in the end and if it’s not alright, it’s not the end yet,” explains the 35-year-old.
