A five-year-old would probably have given her mother a huge fright – at least if she had woken up and noticed her child was missing. The little girl from Idar-Oberstein in Rhineland-Palatinate made her way to kindergarten alone early on Sunday morning while her mother was still asleep. A road user brought the little early riser to the police at 6 a.m., the officials in Idar-Oberstein said. After all, the little one is very independent. According to the police, the child got out of bed around 5 a.m., got dressed, had breakfast and then left for kindergarten.

However, her plan was apparently a bit half-baked. Because: The girl didn’t really know where the kindergarten was, as the police said. The child was also unable to tell the officials her own home address and her full name. With their first names, however, they were able to identify their family. At around 6:30 a.m., they handed the girl over to the puzzled mother. She was still asleep and hadn’t noticed anything about her enterprising daughter’s trip.
