There are big changes in the life of Kevin Costner (68). A spokesman for the actor recently confirmed that he and his wife Christine Baumgartner (49) are getting divorced. Now it is known that the series “Yellowstone”, in which Costner has played the leading role for the past few years, will soon end. The last episodes of the fifth season should be available from November, as reported by “Variety”.
Even before it was announced that Costner and his wife were divorcing, there had been speculation that the actor might be leaving the series. The industry magazine said in February, citing insiders, that the 68-year-old could possibly resign. Apparently there were problems with Costner’s busy schedule.
According to the industry portal “Deadline”, it is currently unclear whether Costner will be seen in the final episodes. But it is clear that an untitled successor series is already planned. This is to be shown from December on the US Paramount Network and via the Paramount streaming service. Matthew McConaughey (53) could therefore play the main role in the successor. Appropriate talks are said to have already taken place, but exact details about the new series are not yet known.
Kevin Costner married his wife Christine in 2004. A spokesman for the actor recently confirmed to the US celebrity portal “TMZ” that the couple will divorce. Baumgartner is said to have given “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce. The two are said to be insisting on joint custody of their three children Cayden (15), Hayes (14) and Grace (12). Costner has four other children from previous relationships: Annie, 39, Lily, 36, Joe, 35, and Liam, 27.
