Prince Louis (5), the youngest offspring of Prince William (40) and Princess Kate (41), made his reputation as the grimacing king on the coronation day of his grandfather King Charles III. (74) all honor. At previous appointments, Louis has already attracted attention with cheeky and cute poses. At first, the five-year-old was patient this Saturday (May 6) in Westminster Abbey and held hands with his sister Charlotte (8). In the meantime, however, he fidgeted and yawned heartily. Because of his young age, Louis was allowed to leave the solemn service with his nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.
After the service, the Mini-Royal reunited with his family. He left the church with William, Kate, Charlotte and his older brother George (9) and rode with them in a carriage back to the palace. Louis cheerfully waved to the many spectators along the route and made faces.
He then showed all his enthusiasm on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, from which the royal family appeared to the public after the coronation and a procession. Louis gestured at the crowd with wild arm movements and exchanged ideas with his parents. He also gaped at the formation of the helicopters and the Red Arrows, the British Air Force’s aerobatic team. His family, particularly his mother Kate, were amused by Louis’ reactions.
Already at the platinum throne jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), which was celebrated in June 2022, Prince Louis was the secret star of the royal family. With his gestures and grimaces he stole the show from his famous relatives.
