Maybe you know this: You finally found a scent that suits you, and as soon as it’s applied, it’s gone again. To prevent exactly that, we have tips for long-lasting perfume: buying tips and tips to extend the shelf life of the fragrance.

If the perfume is to be long-lasting, it is of course important to use a high-quality eau de parfum instead of an eau de toilette. Because the concentration of fragrance oils and thus the intensity and durability are higher in an Eau de Parfum. If you buy an Eau de Parfum with the addition “Intense” or “Extrait”, the concentration of the oil in the fragrance is even higher. Usually the price is correspondingly higher – but it doesn’t take much of the fragrance to ensure intensity and durability. Buying tips for long-lasting Eau de Parfum follow below.

In addition, for a long-lasting perfume, it is helpful to choose the pulse points on the body, which also intensify the scent through their warmth. Classically, these are the inside of the wrists, the crook of the elbow, the back of the knee and the hollow in the front of the neck. Pulse points are well supplied with blood and therefore well suited for fragrances. The neck or behind the ears are also suitable places for your favorite scent so that you can smell it for as long as possible. And: Perfumes also last a very long time on hair and clothing.

To make the scent last longer, it is also advisable to use petroleum jelly as a primer. A thin layer on the skin, ideally the pulse points, ensures a longer fragrance experience. And: Vaseline also cares for the skin.

It is best to keep perfume in a dark and protected place to make it last. While the bottle is attractive, it’s best if you use a drawer to store it.

The best time to apply a long-lasting perfume is after a shower, when the body is still covered with residual moisture. This absorbs the scent and it is absorbed better and more sustainably.

You should also avoid rubbing your perfume after applying it. Because that can actually damage the fragrance molecules and ensure that the perfume and especially its heart and base notes cannot unfold properly.

In addition to our tips, you can also use fragrances that are considered long-lasting. These four include:

An absolute classic and very intense fragrance that lasts a long time is “Alien” by Thierry Mugler. It is considered feminine, strong and exciting – and a long-lasting perfume. Also positive: the bottle is refillable.

The women’s perfume “Chloé” is also one of the fragrances that are considered to be long-lasting. It also has a reputation for being elegant and seductive. A modern interpretation of the rose with French charm.

A leathery men’s perfume whose notes don’t fade away so quickly is “Explorer” by Montblanc. Woody, aromatic and powerful, it is often described as energizing.

The only “Intense” fragrance in our buying tips comes from Davidoff: “Cool Water” (Intense). An aromatic-fresh men’s fragrance that is intense and seductive, but not intrusive.
