Kyron Medical, a healthcare technology startup founded by Brown University students, is set to revolutionize medical billing using artificial intelligence (AI). Co-founded by Jay Gopal ’25 MD’29 and Lucas Lieberman ’25, the startup aims to streamline the medical billing process and reduce physician burnout by utilizing AI technology.

Through the use of AI, Kyron Medical’s innovative solution can efficiently process and analyze medical bills, identify errors, and negotiate with insurance providers. This not only saves healthcare providers time but also helps them save money in the long run.

To better understand the challenges faced by healthcare providers, Kyron Medical conducted interviews with over 200 medical professionals. This rigorous development process has allowed the startup to fine-tune its product to meet the needs of private practices effectively.

Currently, the team is gearing up for a complete product launch after securing letters of intent and presales. They plan to release early versions of the product to gather user feedback, a strategy that co-founder Gopal believes will be crucial for success.

With the support of Brown University’s Nelson Centre for Entrepreneurship, Kyron Medical is well-positioned to make a significant impact on the healthcare sector. The startup is focusing on product development and customer acquisition to ensure a fully functional product in the coming months.

In addition to improving medical billing practices, Kyron Medical is also committed to addressing ethical concerns surrounding the use of AI in healthcare. The startup ensures data privacy and HIPAA compliance by utilizing secure platforms like AWS HealthLake to safeguard patient information.

By leveraging AI technology, understanding the healthcare industry, and prioritizing ethical considerations, Kyron Medical has the potential to transform medical billing processes and enhance the overall patient/physician experience. With a strong foundation and support from Brown University, the startup is poised to make a positive impact in the healthcare sector.
