Actress Amanda Bynes (37) was apparently able to leave the psychiatric facility she was taken to by the police two weeks ago. On Friday night (June 30) she was released under certain conditions, reports the American celebrity portal “TMZ”. She was given a recovery plan that she had to follow. For the time being, a doctor will check daily whether she is adhering to it, it is said.
According to “TMZ”, the treating doctors on site have come to the conclusion in the past few days that Bynes, who is said to suffer from bipolar disorder, has made considerable progress. She is therefore trusted to be able to do everyday life independently again.
The Los Angeles police arrested him two weeks ago because the officers considered Bynes to be a “danger to themselves and others”. “TMZ” published pictures showing the 37-year-old being handcuffed into a police car.
After that, Bynes was initially held at the facility for 72 hours. However, after being forced to stay for three days, the local conclusion was that the former Nickelodeon child star could not yet be allowed back into society. Accordingly, the decision was made that Bynes had to spend at least another week in the facility. In the end it turned out to be two weeks.
Bynes had just left a psychiatric facility two months ago. On March 19, 2023, the actress was picked up naked on the street and taken into medical care. At the time, she had approached a driver and told him that she had just come down from a psychosis. Then she called 911 herself.
Amanda Bynes was under her parents’ guardianship between 2013 and 2022. According to her own statement, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. After the end of the guardianship, she is said to have been fine at first.
