After the many public appointments in recent weeks, Prince William (41) and his eldest son have at least allowed themselves a short, sporty break. Together with Prince George (9), who will celebrate his tenth birthday in July, the two royals went to cricket at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. There, father and son watched the clash between England and Australia.
It was certainly a successful trip for George. He is not only enthusiastic about sports like his father William, his mother, Princess Kate (41) and his siblings Charlotte (8) and Louis (5). There was also a delicious pizza for the young prince, as shown by several pictures published by the British “Daily Mail”, among others.
George was also able to look forward to a small gift. Richard Thompson, Chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), presented him with a replica of the ‘Ashes Urn’, which goes to the winner of the international match. Meanwhile, Papa William talked to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (43) and actor and comedian Stephen Fry (65) during the visit.
During the trip, William is said to have chatted animatedly with his son about the match and pointed out special moves to him. It is also not the first father-son day of this kind. In April, William took George to the football stadium to cheer on Aston Villa from the stands at the game against Nottingham Forest. A long-time fan of the club, William has been President of The Football Association (FA) since 2006.
