It is the hit dream couple of the moment: Veteran Michelle (51) and newcomer Eric Philippi (26) have publicly declared their love for the first time. And that on the big stage. They not only confirmed that they are a couple – but also allowed intimate insights into young happiness.
The first public confession was on television. At the “Schlagerboom Open Air – The Stadium Show in Austria” moderator Florian Silbereisen was not only allowed to end the secrecy surrounding the hit couple. But also ask several questions about it. The next day, the PR tour in matters of love went into the second round in “Bild am Sonntag”.
“That’s right. And I’m the happiest person and the happiest woman in the whole world,” Michelle initially enthused when asked by Silbereisen whether the headlines of the past few weeks about the two were really true.
At “BamS” they went into even more detail. “The first time we hugged, I had a strong feeling that I’ve never felt before,” Michelle enthuses. “Even though we didn’t know each other at all.” The two met six months ago at a concert. She had a feeling “as if I had been waiting for this person my whole life.” Philippi sees it that way too. “The word in love is simply not enough, we are kindred spirits,” he enthuses.
The two got to know each other at a concert a year and a half ago, they reveal. But they didn’t get together until spring. When Philippi accompanied Michelle on her tour, there were sparks between the two. Michelle has suppressed the feelings for a long time, she reveals. She would have been afraid “he might think I’m just saying that.” But now they are “really inseparable,” said the singer.
Now that it’s official, the two are already planning for their future together. Since they spend a lot of time together anyway, living together is already an issue. The young couple revealed that they wanted to find a place where they could rest together. “Preferably a house by the lake.”
Michelle doesn’t see the age difference as a problem. “I don’t see Eric as this young man of 26 who I love,” she explains. “It’s his soul that I love. It doesn’t matter if that soul is 26 or 86.” The younger colleague is “the love of her life,” she enthuses. Michelle has been married twice and also had a long relationship with hit colleague Matthias Reim. She has a daughter from each of the three long-term relationships. The eldest was born in the same year as Philippi.
