Paul McCartney (81) posted a very special birthday post on Friday, which is aimed at two “heroes” in his life, as the ex-Beatle emphasized: his late father James McCartney (1902-1976) and his former bandmate Ringo Rigid (83).

Both men saw the light of day on the same date – namely July 7th. “Wishing two of my heroes a happy birthday,” McCartney wrote in a post that included photos of the two men. One shows Starr sitting on a set of stairs and showing the peace sign at the camera. Another black and white image shows McCartney’s late father posing with his wife and child for a family photo.

“It’s Ringo’s birthday and my dad’s birthday so let’s have a great day celebrating these two great people,” McCartney wrote. And ends the post simply with his first name, “Paul”.

The now 83-year-old drummer had just admitted in a birthday conversation with “People” that he still felt like 27 in his head. “Wisdom is a big word. Aging happens and you try to keep yourself busy,” Starr said.

The birthday tradition that has accompanied him through his life since 2008 has not been missed by Starr this year either. On Starr’s birthday on July 7th, fans wish “peace and love” each year on social media, among each other, or at Starr’s “Peace and Love” event at 12 noon sharp. This year the celebration took place in the Capitol Records Tower with concerts by Sara Watkins (42), Ben Kyle (42) from Romantica and the band The Jacks.
