Singer Campino (61), frontman of Toten Hosen, is auctioning off a special jacket for a good cause. “We are pleased that the auction of the fireman’s jacket, which Campino received as a gift from the Düsseldorf fire department for the band’s 40th anniversary last year, went so well,” writes the band in an Instagram post in which pictures of the jacket can be seen . Campino wore the firefighter jacket, which was personalized in his name and now signed by all band members, every evening when the band played the song “112”. The proceeds of the auction will benefit the victims of the attack that took place in Ratingen in mid-May.

“I’m sure you’ve heard about the terrible incident when there was an explosion during an arson attack on the Ratingen fire brigade, police and rescue service,” writes the band. “It was actually a routine operation, the forces called for help were completely clueless, 35 people were injured in this incident, nine of them so badly that some of them were in a coma and are still in this condition today.” According to the posting, the musicians are hoping “for many who will bid and thank you in advance”.

The description of the Ebay auction also explains the jacket: “Here you have the unique opportunity to bid for the firefighter jacket that Campino has been wearing since the 40-year anniversary tour ‘Alles aus Liebe’ with the song ‘112’ on the stage. The Toten Hosen received this fire department jacket from the Düsseldorf fire department for their band anniversary in 2022 and since then it has accompanied the five at all live performances. The jacket was specially personalized for Campino and has his name and an individual number on the inside (1982 ).” The auction runs until July 20, the bid so far is 7,450 euros (as of July 11, 5:45 p.m.).
