King Charles (75) has been British monarch for more than a year. The palace said the king was grateful to his medical team for their quick intervention. He decided to inform about his diagnosis to avoid speculation. He also hopes that it will help to understand those affected by cancer worldwide, the palace said.
Britain’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak wished Charles, who is also head of state, a speedy recovery: “I wish His Majesty a full and speedy recovery. I have no doubt that he will quickly return to full strength and I know that the whole country is with him will wish you all the best.”
