After learning of his cancer, King Charles III. (75) was spotted in public for the first time. Together with Queen Camilla (76), the monarch drove from his home, Clarence House, to Buckingham Palace this Tuesday afternoon. In the picture from the royal limousine, the 75-year-old looks cheerful, waves and smiles in a friendly manner.
According to the British Daily Mirror, the monarch and his wife are on their way to his country estate in Sandringham. From Buckingham Palace we were then taken by helicopter to the estate in the county of Norfolk, where the king is supposed to recover after starting his cancer treatment.
Previously, there was said to be a first, brief encounter between King Charles and his son, Prince Harry (39), at Clarence House. Duchess Meghan’s husband (42) returned to London this Tuesday afternoon. Harry was spotted in front of Clarence House around an hour before Charles set off with his wife.
The monarch’s shocking illness has raised hopes among royal observers that the family could become closer together again in these difficult times. Prince Harry’s wife Meghan and his children Prince Archie (4) and Princess Lilibet (2) are said not to have traveled to England and are staying in Montecito, California.
