In the past few months, former “Baywatch” star Nicole Eggert (52) has had to endure two pieces of bad news. According to her own statement, the 52-year-old was diagnosed with a “very rare” form of breast cancer in December 2023. Just a short time later, in February of this year, Eggert revealed that the cancer had also spread to her lymph nodes. On her official Instagram account, the actress made a sign of courage that can also be interpreted as a declaration of war against the disease – she shaved herself bald in front of the camera and with the support of her daughter Dilyn.
She accompanied the video with the song “Fight For Your Right” by the Beastie Boys and also commented on it with a quote: “Maybe healing doesn’t mean so much changing ourselves, but allowing ourselves to be who we are are.”
In the comments section, Eggert is unanimously celebrated for her inspiring courage. Including celebrities like Alyssa Milano (51). The “Charmed” star wrote: “Grace. You have the greatest grace. It’s inspiring and I appreciate you.” Meanwhile, “Beverly Hills, 90210” actress Jenny Garth (51) sent her colleague “a huge hug.”
About a month and a half ago, Eggert told “Inside Edition” that she had just found out from her doctors that the cancer had spread. She also blamed herself for not feeling her breasts regularly – “that’s the only thing I should have done.” She has previously spoken about how her breast implants, which she got as an 18-year-old, made it more difficult to detect the cancer: “If I hadn’t had them and instead had my smaller, natural breasts, I would certainly have had it a lot sooner felt.”
Nicole Eggert appeared in two seasons of “Baywatch” from 1992 to 1994 as lifeguard Summer Quinn. She had other appearances in the series “T.J. Hooker” and “Who’s the Boss Here?”. She is a single mother to two daughters Dilyn and Keegan and admitted her “biggest fear” is not being able to be there for her children.
