The singer and actress Lady Gaga (38) and the director Todd Phillips (53) are vigorously promoting the upcoming blockbuster “Joker: Folie à deux”. Although the successor to Phillips’ cinema hit “Joker” is not due to be released for another six months, the first film poster can already be seen. Both posted the poster on Instagram.
The two main characters of the film are shown on the poster. You can see Joaquin Phoenix (49) dancing in the role of Joker with Harley Quinn, played by Lady Gaga. “The world is a stage,” writes the actress. Both she and the director also announced that the first trailer will be released in a week, on April 9th.
Last April, Phillips announced that filming had been completed. Exact details are not yet known about the plot of the new film. However, the industry magazine “Variety” described the film in February as a “drama with musical elements” about Arkham Asylum. This is a well-known psychiatric institution from the DC universe. In 2022 there were first reports that the “Joker” sequel could possibly become a musical. The trailer on April 9th should provide more information.
In addition to Phoenix and Lady Gaga, Zazie Beetz (32), Brendan Gleeson (69), Catherine Keener (65), Jacob Lofland (27) and Harry Lawtey (27) will appear in the second part. The cinema release is scheduled for October 4th.
