Sweet baby news from the Hashemite royal family: Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein (29) and his wife, Princess Rajwa (29), are becoming parents for the first time. The palace announced this on April 10th. Accordingly, the baby should be born this summer.

“The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein are expecting their first child this summer,” the statement said. “The Royal Hashemite Court warmly congratulates Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on this occasion and wishes Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa health and happiness upon the arrival of their child.”

This means that the Jordanian King Abdullah II (62) and Queen Rania (53) will become grandparents for the first time. The royal couple’s eldest son and the Saudi Arabian architect Rajwa met while studying in the USA and married on June 1, 2023.

More than 1,700 guests attended the wedding in Amman, including European royals such as Princess Kate (42), Prince William (41), King Frederik (55) and Queen Mary (52) of Denmark or King Willem-Alexander (56) and Queen Máxima (52) of the Netherlands.
