Presenter and actress Collien Ulmen-Fernandes (41) fell victim to fraud in Mallorca. She revealed this on the RTL program “stern TV am Sonntag”. They wanted to book a finca on the popular Spanish holiday island. But the supposedly serious offer turned out to be a vain number, explained the native of Hamburg. In the end she was left without a place to live and poorer by a four-digit sum of money.

The perfidious thing about the scam: your appearance on the “Mallorca in Sight” website was absolutely credible, explained Ulmen-Fernandes. Imprint, tax number and correspondence with the alleged landlady were available. The criminals even “put the addresses online,” said the moderator. The location of each property was visible.

She also found what she was looking for on Google when she entered the agent’s name. However: “We never spoke on the phone,” explained the injured party. After all, she doesn’t like to make phone calls and prefers to communicate by email, explained Ulmen-Fernandes. So she finally transferred the desired amount of money and now laments the loss of a four-digit sum.

Collien Ulmen-Fernandes now wants to press charges.
