Almost two months after the motorcycle accident that killed actor Treat Williams (1951-2023), police have released more details. According to a press release from the Vermont State Police, the series star died after the accident on June 12 from “severe trauma and blood loss.” In addition, the person who caused the accident was charged with grossly negligent driving resulting in death. The man is scheduled to appear on September 25 for arraignment before the Criminal Division of the Vermont Supreme Court in Bennington.

Williams, known for series such as “Everwood” and “White Collar,” suffered his fatal injuries in a collision June 12 near the town of Dorset, Vermont. The person who caused the accident “turned into the path of Mr. Williams’ motorcycle with his SUV,” the report said. As a result of the collision, the 71-year-old was thrown off his motorcycle and seriously injured – even though he was wearing a helmet. “He sustained serious injuries and was flown to Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, where he was pronounced dead,” police said shortly after the accident.

His representative Barry McPherson had confirmed the death to the public on June 12. “He was killed this afternoon. He turned left or right and a car cut him off,” McPherson told People at the time. “I’m just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented.” Numerous colleagues such as John Travolta (69), Sharon Stone (65) and Kim Cattrall (66) expressed their dismay. Vanessa Hudgens (34) also mourned publicly in an Instagram story. In “Manhattan Queen” she played his daughter. “He was a great film father and an even better person,” explains the “High School Musical” star. “Treat Williams was a fantastic actor and a good soul, a pleasure to have around.”
