The 33rd edition of the heavy metal festival in Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein next year is already sold out almost a year before the start (July 31st to August 3rd). All tickets were completely sold out in a new record time of just 4.5 hours, the organizers announced on Monday night on their Facebook page. Last year, advance sales for 85,000 tickets also took just under five hours.
“Since some payments are still unsuccessful, it may still be possible to purchase individual tickets in the coming hours – so feel free to try your luck on the ticket page,” the organizers advised metal fans who still want to buy a ticket.
Wacken Open Air 2023 only ended on Sunday night with 61,000 metal fans. According to the organizers, there were significantly fewer metal fans than the originally expected 85,000. Because of the muddy space conditions, the organizers had imposed an admission stop on Wednesday for safety reasons for the first time in the history of the Wacken Open Air (W:O:A). On Sunday, the organizers announced that they would like to grant those who were rejected a right of first refusal.
The organizers have already announced the first 33 bands for the 33rd metal festival next year, including the Scorpions. The German rock band already played in Wacken in 2012. She is one of the headliners in 2024. Other performances by Amon Amarth, In Extremo, Blind Guardian and Knorkator are also planned.
