Hamilton opens up: ‘I never went into it for the money’

Lewis Hamilton is with the six world championships, one of the biggest stars, the Formula 1 ever has had.

And with great success on the racetrack are most often great wealth. It makes it also for Hamilton, who throughout his career has earned more than three billion dollars, including the sponsors and the bonuses.

But for Hamilton it has never been about the money.

“the Matter is that I never went into it for the sake of money. Of course, it is the fat that it builds up. It is a bonus. As long as it does not become the decisive factor in it, I do,” says Lewis Hamilton in a great interview to the BBC.

“the Core of what I do, is that I love to race. I love the challenge,” says Hamilton.

nevertheless it was his love for the sport and hunt for more tested this season. In the interview to the BBC opens the 34-year-old Formula 1-runs up about a turbulent year in which the fatal element in motorsportsverdenen really crept under the skin of him.

Hamilton was faced with death, when the Formula 2-running Anthoine Betist Hubert died in a horrible accident on the Spa track in Belgium.

Death, that affected the whole motorsportsverdenen, gave Hamilton flashback to the days of his gokartrival Daniel Spence died the same year as Ayrton Senna, as Hamilton was just eight years old.

“I can remember when the boy died, when I was eight, stopped one of my best friends to run the kart. The fear crept into him, and he stopped just.”

“For me it was such, that if it ever creeps into me, so I know that my career has reached an end,” says Hamilton.

With the title in the year is Lewis Hamilton a world championship from tangere Michael Schumacher’s record. And even though he has his 34 year can catch a glimpse of the karrierestoppet out on the horizon, so it becomes not just preliminary.

“Right now, I am following me physically good enough to continue, so I will try to stretch it as far as I can,” says Hamilton.
