She had a hard time finding the words. And several times she had to breathe down in the stomach.

“I could cut off the head of myself, that I don’t even have the courage to the last.”

that was the gist of it from a gråkvalt Louise Burgaard after the match against Serbia. A match that ended 26-26. A result, Denmark could not use to something, and thus they were sent out into the darkness.

“It is everything we should stand for. It is simply just not good enough. I is not going to be able to sleep the next three days, I am sure,” said Louise Burgaard, who also could not hold back the tears.

With about 20 seconds again got the ball on Danish hands. A goal was what the team needed to win the match and thus keep the OLYMPIC hope alive.

But it failed, and the match against Serbia and Denmark were in big trouble especially in the first halvelg – was the last at this year’s WORLD cup.

“It is not the last 20 seconds. It is just to take the chance. I’m doing some fucked up bad decisions in the majority, where I just need to come blazing in, as I’m allerebedst to. It is not the last 20 seconds, we’re losing the fight. It is the whole match. It is all the mistakes we make in the course of the fight,” said Louise Burgaard.

She was not just upset. She was also clearly angry. Frustrated. Disappointed.

“Our defense has otherwise been mega good. And Sandra (Toft, ed.)… we can’t expect more of her. So we are going to open too much in the middle of them (the serbs, ed.), but when all comes to all, I think – again – it is our attacking, that was missing. It lacks the sharpness,” said Louise Burgaard, who is also called the total defeat of ‘a hundred percent self-inflicted’.

She took a deep breath and looked seriously down in the ground. For it is not only the end of the WORLD cup. There will be no OLYMPICS in 2020 for the women’s team.

“I think not quite, I have understood how big impact it has here, and how much we have lost on the floor,” said the sad profile and could not get several words ahead.

“We must be the warriors. I don’t think we had enough warriors,” said Louise Burgaard.
