The American Music Awards will not be held this year. The next presentation of the honors, which are among the most important awards in the US music industry, will take place “in spring 2024,” said a spokeswoman for the organizers of the German Press Agency in New York.

Instead, the Billboard Music Awards, where the trade magazine “Billboard” honors the most successful musicians of the year, would be postponed to November. The event is scheduled to take place on November 19th. The rights to both awards shows belong to the same event company, Dick Clark Productions.

The Billboard Music Awards have been presented annually since 1990 – always in December until 2006, and since then in the spring. The American Music Awards (AMAs), where fans can vote for the winners, have been presented since 1974 – always in January or February until 2003, and since then in November or October. Last November, superstar Taylor Swift won six trophies at the 50th American Music Awards. With a total of 40 honors, she is the musician with the most AMA awards in the awards show’s history, ahead of Michael Jackson with 26 trophies.
