Following tips from citizens, heavily armed police officers searched participants in a wedding parade in Hanover.
Passers-by said they heard shots from the cars that evening and dialed 110. “We had indications that blank pistols were being fired into the air from the parade,” said a police spokesman. Eight cars were searched, but ultimately nothing was found.
Wedding guests must exit limousines
All wedding guests had to leave their limousines – the bride also had to wait on an eight-lane main road in the middle of the city in her opulent white dress for the police searches to end.
“As a result, no blank guns or other weapons were found,” said the police spokesman. After the check, all guests were allowed to continue towards the wedding reception.
