Former reality TV celebrity Josh Duggar was charged with possessing and receiving child porn
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Former reality TV celebrity Josh Duggar faces costs of downloading and owning child porn under a federal indictment unsealed Friday.
Federal prosecutors announced the indictment per day following Duggar was detained by U.S. Marshals in northwest Arkansas. Prosecutors said Duggar owned the substance, a few of that depicts the sexual abuse of children under the age of 12, in May 2019.
Duggar, 33, pleaded not guilty in a hearing Friday. His lawyers said they intended to defend his situation”thoroughly and aggressively.”
“In this nation, nobody can prevent prosecutors from charging a crime,” the lawyers said in a statement. “But if you are accused, you are able to fight back into the court — which is just what Josh plans to perform.”
Duggar starred on TLC’s”19 Children and Counting” before it had been pulled in the community in 2015 over revelations Duggar had molested four of his sisters and a teenager. Duggar’s parents said he’d confessed to the fondling and apologized.
Duggar previously apologized for a porn addiction and cheating on his wife.
